We are offering 1 CE hour through APA, CDR, and NBCC for live attendance.
Abstract:
In recent years, the concept of body compassion has emerged as a vital framework for supporting individuals with eating disorders, particularly in navigating their relationships with movement. This presentation explores how cultivating body compassion can foster a healthier mindset towards movement among clients.
We will discuss the principles of body compassion, emphasizing self-acceptance, mindfulness, and emotional awareness, and how these can be integrated into therapeutic practices. Attendees will learn practical strategies for helping clients redefine their movement experiences, moving away from punitive exercise patterns toward more intuitive and joyful engagement with their bodies. By incorporating body compassion into treatment, practitioners can empower clients to build a more positive and nurturing relationship with movement, ultimately supporting their recovery journey.
