Psicoterapicamente is a Psychology and Psychotherapy center based in Naples, Milan, and Varese. Psicoterapicamente specializes in the treatment and care of psychological and psychiatric issues, such as eating disorders. A multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and nutrition professionals, works with the aim of providing attentive and personalized responses to all forms of psychological distress. They are deeply aware that behind such distress, there are, above all, individuals with diverse stories and needs.


SIRIDAP

SIRIDAP Onlus is the Italian Society of Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation of Eating and Weight Disorders. The society’s goal is to disseminate good practices in the treatment of eating disorders throughout the country. SIRIDAP promotes prevention, scientific research, cultural events, and professional training to create a network of specialized health professionals in the treatment of eating and weight disorders. According to SIRIDAP, multidisciplinary is at the heart of the treatment process. Particular attention is given to supporting families with members suffering from eating disorders.


Villa Miralago

Villa Miralago is a therapeutic community for the treatment of eating disorders, located in Cuasso al Monte, Varese. Patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist, and dietitian. The rehabilitation program is personalized and involves three areas of intervention: psychopathological, nutritional, and educational, with the aim of caring for the patient in their entirety. Villa Miralago is divided into four autonomous communities: two for adults, one for minors, and a fourth for those facing extreme psychological and physical difficulties, requiring greater clinical attention.


ANANKE

ANANKE is a national association characterized by clinical centers specialized in the treatment of contemporary mental distress, such as eating disorders, new forms of depression, addiction disorders, and trauma-related disorders. The goal of this project is to place the singularity of each subject at the center of the treatment process. Each patient brings with them a story and a family narrative, undergoing individual and family psychotherapy. A multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and nutrition professionals, is present in all clinical centers.


Palazzo Francisci

Residenza Palazzo Francisci offers therapeutic alternative care for patients with Eating Disorders in Todi. The multidisciplinary team provides an intensive integrated program lasting 3-5 months, serving as both a post-hospital therapeutic extension and an alternative to inpatient care. The therapeutic community also accommodates patients under 14 years old, with dedicated pediatric staff. Access is determined by the family doctor, local services, or directly upon request from patients or their families. Participation in the program requires preliminary motivational meetings and agreement to a therapeutic contract signed by the patients.

Riccardo Dalle Grave is the Head of the Department of Eating and Weight Disorders at Villa Garda Hospital, Garda (VR), Italy. Villa Garda is a clinic founded in the 1920s. It is situated in a valley, surrounded by hills that slope down towards the town of Garda, which is situated on the eastern bank of Lake Garda in the province of Verona. The Clinic falls within the remit of the Veneto Region Local Health Unit (ULSS 22).

StatisticsNumber of facilities to treat eating disorders in Italy as of 2021, by region

As of year-end 2021, there were a total of 91 facilities to treat eating disorders across the whole Italian territory. This statistic breaks the number of eating disorder treatment facilities down by region where these structures were located. According to the data, Emilia-Romagna was the region hosting the highest number of such facilities, with 16. Campania followed with 10. This statistic takes into account only eating disorder treatment facilities operated by the Italian National Health System. Read more here.
